As ya’ll know, I find it important to support the local community – especially those organizations that help the less fortunate.  Recently we had Mindy Dome, the Executive Director of the Amherst Survival Center, on the show to discuss the UMass Dash and Dine, the proceeds of which go to support the their  efforts.  Mindy and I were joined by Tripper O’Mara from UMass who discussed the importance of April 12th’s event.  The survival center helps people in need by providing hot meals, a food pantry, free access to health care, and clothing. As you’ll hear in the interview, I know all too well about the importance of these services as I’ve dealt with homelessness, and eaten out of more dumpsters than I care to remember. I WISH we had programs like this when I needed them, but alas… that was a different era.  So, tune in to hear all about the UMass Dash and Dine coming up on April 12, 2014, the Amherst Survival Center, and what you can do to help your neighbors in need.
