Is financial literacy important? You betcha! In my past life I was a personal finance expert who helped over 2.5 million people enhance their relationship with money. Throughout my career I grew passionate about providing financial literacy to children, which is why I got involved with Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts. Not only does Junior Achievement educate kids about entrepreneurship, but also imparts upon them the importance of fiscal responsibility. We’re not the only ones passionate about helping kids understand the value of a dollar. Under Steve Lowell’s leadership, Monson Savings has made tremendous investments and financial literacy education around Western Massachusetts. Aside from his responsibilities at the bank, Steve donates his time to the United Way’s Financial Stability Board, and has embraced the Massachusetts Financial Education Collaborative’s vision of helping everyone in the Commonwealth gain financial confidence. Tune into our interview to hear about Steve, his institution, and the work being done to help residents own their economic success.
